Senior Software Development Engineer / Software Development Manager

The Sr. Software Development Engineer / Software Development Manager reports to the COO and will be responsible for management and execution of development, validation and system management of the various IT infrastructure components of Skyline Diagnostics’ in-vitro diagnostic “Profiler” technologies. The team of software engineers performs the (risk based) design, development, testing, construction, implementation, validation and system management of the IT infrastructure components for multiple dedicated Applications. The ideal candidate will be an experienced software developer and hands on team leader.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide supervision and direction to the development team.

• Provide technical direction for the (risk based) design, development, testing, construction, implementation and validation of the IT infrastructure components;

• Responsible for the quantity, quality and soundness of the development team’s output;

• Resource management

• Responsible for the software development lifecycle and IT infrastructure risk management according to high quality standards for the various projects;

• Ensure the development adheres to coding standards;

• Together with team perform the Software engineering for the IT infrastructure design and development plans;

 

Job Requirements:

• 6+ years experience in software engineering and preferably 2+ in years in managing development staff;

• Knowledge and experience with a wide range of programming languages, applications and OS’s (such as Java, Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET C#, C++, XML Webservices, tomcat, JBoss, VMWare, RedHat Enterprise Linux operating system, WebService (JAX-WS)),

• Experience with (FMEA) risk analysis processes

• Confirmed experience using GAMP guidelines and Best Coding Practices.

• Experience with software engineering for (PMA) in-vitro diagnostic devices or medical devices

• Experience in working in a regulated environment e.g. GMP, ISO-13485, 21CFR820.

• Master degree in Software Engineering.

• Excellent Dutch and English language skills;

• Excellent technical skills and knowledge coupled with strong motivating leadership, planning and management abilities;

• Strong hands-on mentality

• Good documentation skills

 

Preferences:

• Prior experience in industrial settings, and especially with Laboratory processes, is a plus.

• Experience with LabWare LIMS and SQL database programming is a strong plus;

• Experience with microarray and Affymetrix DX2 technology is a plus;

• Thorough knowledge of, and experience in, software testing and validation is a strong plus
